In addition to these home entertainment applications, AMX panels can control lighting, heating, security and sprinkler systems. Voice over IP (VoIP) capability on the latest panels mean that they can operate as an in-house intercom system while the wired panels can also display full motion video making them ideal CCTV monitors or even small discreet TVs.

The Metreau Entry Communicator enables doorbell notification to residents of hotels, homes or appartments from visitors at doors and gates. With the addition of an AMX Modero intercom touch panel, residents can see visitors via an integrated one-way color camera, have two-way audio conversations, and open doors or gates.

Adding the AMX SIP Communication Gateway will also enable residents to communicate with visitors from any telephone throughout the home or business.

AMX's purchase of Autopatch has brought one of the best known names in signal management under the AMX brand. There is a range of switchers suitable for just about any application. In residential projects it's typical to use an 8 x 8 switcher capable of distributing up to eight high definition sources to eight display devices - however in larger projects we might use a 18 x 18 or 20 x 20 switcher.

Matrix switchers mean that our clients can access any of their video sources from any screen or display device, and AMX control means tha our clients can control any of those sources as easily as if they were standing in front of them.

The Tango Audio Controller integrates all of your audio sources and makes them easily accessible from a single, centrally managed location. The DAS-T0808-SIG controls up to 8 sources and distributes audio to 8 rooms or zones. Control sources using the Mio R-1 Audio Remote Control and Metreau Audio Keypads via RS-232, IP address (using the optional DAS-MNET), or IR (using the DAS-IRRX-SWT and SWT-capable speakers).

Other sources such as Satellite Receivers, CD Players, MP3 Players can be patched into the RCA source inputs on the rear panel. Tango’s modular design allows it to grow with you to accommodate future technologies via replaceable device, tuner and interface cards. While it can inherently support 8 sources and 8 zones, up to 7 Tango Zone Expanders can be added to the system to add up to 64 rooms/zones.
