Bespoke Design

Designed by Brilliant designer, Sara Cussons

Most of the furniture that we supply is bespoke to a greater or lesser extent, but we will also design completely one off original pieces for a specific project. A good example of this is the Brilliant Chair:

This funky wingback was designed to create a focal point in a classy games room. A bespoke wingback chair with 'sofa attitude'. Extra generous seating for one and a half or an intimate seat for two.

Striking Andrew Martin fabric in a damask pattern was used on the outside of the chair’s design, whilst the inside was co-ordinated to match with a smart plain velvet.

The striking red fabric was selected to link in with the red baize used on the Brunswick Billiards Table and the red high gloss kitchenette doors to the rear of the room, thus carrying the jaunty red accent colour throughout the space.

The chair’s satin aluminium feet were introduced to coordinate with the mezzanine balustrade and modern chrome designing of the billiards table. The client was so delighted with the result that she commissioned a companion chair, the ‘Mrs Brilliant’ Chair

The design was conceived by Sara Cussons of Brilliant Living and realised by Saxum of www.saxum.co.uk

The client required some artwork to go behind a sink in the kitchenette of a games room. Glass was chosen for practical reasons and an artist was commissioned to carry out the work. The size of the artwork was determined and then fabrics and other finish samples from the interiors were sent through to the artist to achieve the correct colour palette.

With our input, the artist produced a set of design proposals. The client was kept up to date with images and as a final check, a photograph of the glass was sent through to the client for final approval before being fired.

Our team met the artist at site to receive instructions for its installation. This image demonstrates the final product installed at site.

The architect and client required designs for several bathrooms. There were restrictions in terms of layout, as plumbing locations had already been determined prior to our involvement. The central section of this elevation had to be constructed with the idea of been able to add a window at a future date. Sanitary ware and tiling were selected and detailed construction drawings showing cabinet designs and lighting were sent to the architect, clients and site project manager.
