New from Planar is the PD8150 - A fantastic value 1080p Home Cinema Projector Utilising the finest DLP technology, sophisticated video processing and precision optics Planar’s new flagship PD8150 is a stunning example of what can be achieved with the latest 1080p source material.
At the heart of the PD8150 is a Texas Instruments DLP® 1080p DMD. This Full HD, 1920 x 1080 (2,073,600 pixels) native resolution panel ensures both HD DVD and Blu-ray sources are displayed with absolute precision.
Video Processing All critical video processing is handled by a Planar customized Gennum GF9450 with 10 bit independent dual channel image processing, true 1080i de-interlacing, MPEG artefact reduction (block and mosquito noise), latest motion adaptive processing, 3D noise reduction, detail enhancement, rich colour processing and noise reduction. Such attention to detail ensures all video material, irrespective of its resolution, is shown with the maximum detail and minimum noise artefacts. The PD8150’s light engine is capable of achieving 1000 ANSI Lumens, calibrated to D65 colour standards, along with an astonishing Contrast Ratio of 15,000:1. This in conjunction with Planar’s DynamicBlack circuitry allows the PD8150 to create larger-than-life images of real impact and depth. To allow the PD8150 to achieve such results in a wide variety of installations two precision all glass lens options are available. The standard 1.86 – 2.40:1 lens enables the projector to be successfully mounted behind the viewing area, out of sight. While the optional 1.56 – 1.86:1 lens allows large scale images to be generated within a much smaller room. All lens options include Vertical and Horizontal optical lens shift even further enhancing the projector’s installation flexibility.
Custom Installation Features As a fully fledged installation projector the PD8150 incorporates all features critical to seamless system operation. These include discreet power commands, direct access of all inputs and image presets. IR and RS232 control inputs are provided along with two 12V screen triggers. Finally the PD8150 offers connectivity for a wide range of sources, inputs provided include, 2 x HDMI 1.3 (HDCP), 1 x Component Video (BNC), 1 x Component Video (RCA), 1 x RGB (HD-15), 1 x S-Video and 1 x Composite video. |
