The new Sonos ZP80s make a fabulous base for a multiroom audio system.
The ZP80 is a smaller unit than the ZP100 and is designed to integrate with existing equipment such as your existing HiFi or your home cinema setup, even a BOSE Wave radio in the kitchen or bedroom. The ZP80 adds digital output - both optical and coaxial - so you can make the most of the digital inputs on your cinema amp or AV receiver
The ZP80 and ZP100 units can be mixed in multizone setups extending up to 32 rooms and the handheld Sonos Controller puts all of the information to control your system in the palm of your hand.
Whilst the first ZP100s allowed you to output to other amplified equipment, the ZP80 offers a smaller, more discrete way of managing this plus it offers digital outputs. The ZP80 really can be placed anywhere to extend the capability of your Sonos system. The introduction of the Sonos BR100 bridge means it's even easier to place Sonos wireless Zone Players anywhere.
One of our favourite combinations is to use the ZP80 with Genelec 6020a active monitors for an amazingly potent small system. The ZP80 is available individually or as part of a Sonos bundle. The bundle (BU130) combines a ZP100, a ZP80 and a CR100 handheld Controller.
