When Alan Willis wanted a stylish way to fill his swimming pool- come-home-cinema with sound above and below water, Amina had just the solution… . Creating sound in wet environment has many pitfalls – acoustically the lack of soft furnishings and surfaces lead to hard echo and hubris. Humidity combined with the cleaning chemicals used are highly corrosive.
For many, the pool area is also visually important: fine lines and great design are key to the ambiance and feel of the space and often traditional speakers disturb this elegance and style. To resolve these issues Alan choose the new Amina Plaster-in-wall speakers. The Amina speakers are actually plastered into the wall protecting them from the environment whilst offering zero visual impact on the room design. For the main pool five AIW5 speakers (80W) were installed around the room to form a home theatre; two further AIW5 speakers were situated below water (behind the tiles) to give sound underwater. More AIW3’s (40w) were installed to provide audio throughout changing and kitchen areas. So Alan got the look he wanted and sound he needed. Other Amina Case Studies Dairy Cottage |
