Together Brilliant Living and Brilliant Lighting can provide you with a unique combination of smart home and lighting design skills and independent advice. We share a common philosophy: strongly design led, and committed to providing intelligent and ‘human’ solutions. Really smart design is when you don’t notice it: everything ‘just works’ and the house works the way you do. By bringing lighting design together with house control systems we are able to work synergistically to achieve a better result. Brilliant Living designs systems giving you multiroom or multi-zone video and audio, home cinema, flexible and powerful lighting control, integrated security systems, wireless networking, smarter heating control and remote communication with your house. Most importantly we design the system to suit the way you live and your budget. The integrated home - intelligent and individual |

Light is often the single most important factor in a room yet it is frequently overlooked. Good lighting is about altering perceptions of light and space, creating focal points and enhancing features, and creating moods or enabling tasks. It’s much more than just ensuring that the light level is adequate or incorporating a striking light fitting into an interior design, although both of these can be important. We take the mystery out of good lighting and help you make the most of your space. Our approach is to work closely with you, to understand how you use the space, what you want to emphasise, and how these needs may change. Separate sections outline our approach to mood lighting and lighting control systems |

Whilst it's possible to describe a lot of the things that can be done with both lighting and home technology, nothing beats being able to touch, feel, hear and see real examples.
Our Home Cinema demo facilities in Thirsk, North Yorkshire feature a large array of world leading products from leading lighting, audio and video manufacturers.
A stunning example of this is the main cinema room which features anamorphic projection using Sim2 projectors, ArtCoustic and Genelec speakers driven by Lexicon audio processing and an acoustically transparent masked screen from Screen Research. The cinema also features the latest in room correction technology from Audyssey and the amazing Kaleidescape system
Like the rest of the showroom, our Home Cinema is controlled by AMX Modero touch panels and the new AMX R4 remote. |

Multiroom or multizone audio sytems enable you to listen to your favourite audio everywhere around your house and garden.
So whether that's the Today programme in the kitchen in the morning, a selection of your favourite tunes in the garden room or some mellow music as you soak in the bath in the evening, a multiroom system can deliver that from one central source and do so without the clutter of additional equipment everywhere.
The concept is easy to describe and the reality can be stunning. However, there is no "one size fits all solution", so let's break down what what we mean when we talk about multiroom audio and outline how it might apply to your project.

Kaleidescape is simply the finest DVD Server we've seen to date.
The system allows storage for many hundreds of DVDs on a Kaleidescape Server which can then be played back in different rooms by a networked Kaleidescape Player. It's a simple concept that has been beautifully executed. The user interface is flexible allowing users to browse their library by Title, Director, Actors, Genres even running time. Audio and video quality are superb. The DVDs are stored totally uncompressed so there's no loss of quality. To arrange a demonstration of this system please call on 01439 798236
The cover art interface is like browsing in your favourite DVD store. Select a film and Kaleidescape retrieves other cover titles that it thinks you might be interested in. Brilliant! |

AMX announced a slew of new developments at the CEDIA Expo in Denver including a new integrated multiroom audio system called Tango and a new door entry system. However, our favourite has to be the new 5.2" wireless panel. Our demo models are on order and we're expecting to have them towards the end of April. AMX were demonstrating working models at Integrated Systems Europe in Amsterdam in January and the striking features were the build quality and the brightness and clarity of the screen. Available in gloss white and gloss black, it offers the power and flexibility you'd expect from AMX in a new, smaller package |
